Gin & Grapefruit Fitzgerald
Serves 20 (in a 10 oz. glass filled with ice)
2 ½ cups simple syrup
2 ½ cups lemon juice
10 cups gin (I love Knickerbocker Grapefruit Gin)
¼ c Angostura Bitters
For Simple Syrup:
2 cups sugar
3 cups water
In a small saucepan, over low heat, combine sugar and water. Bring this mixture to a boil then turn down heat. Simmer for 5 minutes on low, then cool for 5 minutes.
Combine simple syrup, lemon juice, and gin in a one gallon container. Right before serving, add bitters and give the cocktail a good stir. Serve with bitters on the side so guests can add more if they prefer. This drink would be great with a shaker on the side that guests can use the shaker and then serve the cocktail without ice. SO GOOD!
